Picasso Protective Coatings & Surface Repair Specialists successfully completed a comprehensive steelwork refurbishment and protective coating project for Irish Rail. The works included the preparation and recoating of staircases, railings, handrails and steel panels, restoring the existing infrastructure to a clean, durable and professional standard while providing enhanced long-term protection.

Due to the operational nature of the site, the project required careful planning and coordination around Irish Rail’s requirements. Works were carried out across both day and night shifts to minimise disruption within the live rail environment. Our team maintained a strong focus on site safety, controlled application methods and quality throughout every stage of the project.

The existing steelwork was thoroughly prepared before the specified protective coating system was applied. Particular attention was given to achieving a consistent, high-quality finish across the staircases, railings, handrails and steel panels. The contrasting yellow handrails and green steelwork provide a clean, highly visible safety finish while significantly improving the overall appearance of the area. Following completion, a full paint inspection was carried out to ensure the coating application met the required project and quality standards.
